More than a decade with EUNEL and counting - very few other American-Dominican Bachateros have been actively contributing to the genre’s up-rise over the past 10 years like he has, both on and off the stage. Known to the fans as EUNEL from “Nueva Era” (1999), this ASCAP registered singer, song-writer, and guitarist has gone solo and recently signed to EQS Management who will be proudly representing him as of 2014.
Eunel Torres (artistically known as just EUNEL) was born on June 30th, 1982 in the beautiful city of Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic. When he was 5 years old, his family moved to New Jersey, USA where he was raised and still currently resides. At the age of 12, EUNEL learned how to play the guitar and while playing with local bands during his teen years his artistic career began taking shape.
Thus far, EUNEL has 7 albums released and thousands of copies sold worldwide, 2 of those albums were with his own band “Nueva Era”, 10 Radio-play and Billboard-charting singles including Nueva Era’s international Bachata hit “Amor Eterno” and his last 2013 single “Cortame Las Venas”. EUNEL’s trajectory with Nueva Era earned him a Premios Lo Nuestro nomination in the Traditional Music Category as well as a Latin Billboard nomination for New Artist.
EUNEL has been featured on tracks with fellow Latin performers Fuego, Joe Veras and Fulanito amongst others and over the years he has shared the stage with numerous celebrities, namely Daddy Yankee, rapper 50 Cent, Aventura, Juanes, Don Omar, NAS, Victor Manuelle, Fat Joe and Tego Calderon. Off the stage EUNEL has worked on musical productions and recordings with Charlie Zaa, Angel Lopez of SonbyFour, OroSolido, Lenny Santos of Aventura, Karlos Rose and reggaeton duo Jowell Y Randy. EUNEL also released the Bachata version of the popular Jason Mraz song “I’m Yours”.
As a Latin artist/musician, EUNEL has been professionally consistent and musically true to his
artistic roots. His 2014 nomination at Univision’s Premios Juventud for his feature song
“La combinacion perfecta” with Bachatero Joe Veras as well as composing the new radio hit “Por Ti” for artist Karlos Rose, just confirms the consistency of his talent – he’s like a rolling stone. When it comes to Bachata music, EUNEL is the real deal, in the studio or on the stage.
“I admire originality in an artist. Staying true to my creative self and being respected for
composing my own music while performing with live instruments is very important to me; as a Bachatero, staying relative in the industry long-term is my ultimate success. I look up to Ricardo Arjona, Alicia Keys, Alejandro Sanz and of course Anthony Santos because they haven’t
compromised their musician-ship for industry survival.” – EUNEL
"When it comes to Bachata music, Eunel is the real deal in the studio and on stage."
